Welcome to the DeKalb Public Library Events by Email List!
New! New! DeKalb Public Library now has a drop box for AV Items! You can now return your DVDs and Music CDs in their own drop box right next to the book drop in the alley east of the library building. Drop DVDs and Music CDs in the AV box without getting fined! 7:00pm Music in the Stacks' first event featuring local singer/songwriter Tim Lockman! Come hear great live guitar & vocal music inside the library! Doors open at 7:00pm, music will start about 7:15pm. Admission is $7.50 per person. Soft drinks and punch available for purchase at the circulation desk. 10:00am - 2:00pm Come to the new Fireside Café! DeKalb Library, in partnership with Borders and Seattle's Best Coffee, will sell several varieties of coffee and cookies by the fireplace on the main floor. Make your weekend browsing a little brighter!

***Coming Soon*** Music In The Stacks! Join us on Friday, May 16th at 7:00pm for the second performance of the season the Huntley Middle School Orchestra! Performances will take place on every Friday night in May and June. Tickets are $7.50 per person and all proceeds benefit the DeKalb Library's Endowment Fund! Join us on Wednesday, May 28th at 5:00pm for information on the benefits of recycling, what products can be made from recycled materials, and local information. ***Coming Up*** Elizabeth Berg, author of Open House, We Are All Welcome Here, and the upcoming The Day I Ate Whatever I Wanted is coming to the DeKalb Public Library! Join us on Saturday, July 12th at 12:30pm at the Barsema Visitor's Center on NIU's campus for the final event of the library's Endowment Fund Drive. The program will include a luncheon, lecture, and a question-and-answer time, as well as a book signing opportunity. Tickets are on sale now for $30.00 per person for lunch and lecture, and $20.00 for lecture only. Pay just $2.00 a disc (with discounts for multiple discs) and get your favorite movies or albums back in brand-new condition.
