CANCELLED Music in the Stacks performance - DeKalb High School Jazz Combo CANCELLED (Look for our first Music in the Stacks event next week, Friday May 9th!)

 

Saturday, May 3rd (Library hours: 9:00am - 5:00pm)

10:00am - 2:00pm Come to the new Fireside Café!  DeKalb Library, in partnership with Borders and Seattle's Best Coffee, will sell several varieties of coffee and cookies by the fireplace on the main floor.  Make your weekend browsing a little brighter!

 

Sunday, May 4th (Library hours: 1:00pm - 5:00pm)

Last Sunday of the season!  After this Sunday, the library will be closed on Sundays until September.

10:30am - 11:30am Pre-K Story Time (this is a pre-school class, and the public is welcome to join us!)

 

7:00pm "Who's Been Sleeping In My House?" local history program presented by Steve Bigolin. FREE, but please register at the Reference Desk to help us prepare.

 

Wednesday, May 7th (Library hours: 9:00am - 9:00pm)

10:30am Toddler Time with Miss Theresa

 

11:15am - 11:45am 2-year-old Story Time (this is a pre-school class, and the public is welcome to join us!)

 

7:00pm Destination Wonder - Hyperion

 

Thursday, May 8th (Library hours:  9:00am - 9:00pm)

7:00pm Go Green! "Eat Your Greens" presented by Dr. Judith M. Lukaszuk, registered dietician.  FREE, but please register at the Reference Desk to help us prepare.

 

***Coming Soon***  Music In The Stacks makes its return!  Join us on Friday, May 9th  at 7:00pm for the first performance of the season featuring local singer/songwriter Tim Lockman!  Performances will take place on every Friday night in May and June.  Tickets are $7.50 per person and all proceeds benefit the DeKalb Library's Endowment Fund! ***Coming Up***   Elizabeth Berg, author of Open House, We Are All Welcome Here, and the upcoming The Day I Ate Whatever I Wanted is coming to the DeKalb Public Library!  Join us on Saturday, July 12th at 12:30pm at the Barsema Visitor's Center on NIU's campus for the final event of the library's Endowment Fund Drive.  The program will include a luncheon, lecture, and a question-and-answer time, as well as a book signing opportunity.  Tickets are on sale now for $30.00 per person for lunch and lecture, and $20.00 for lecture only. Do you have scratched DVDs or CDs?  The DeKalb Public Library has a machine that will clean and resurface them for you!  Pay just $2.00 a disc (with discounts for multiple discs) and get your favorite movies or albums back in brand-new condition.
