10:00am - 2:00pm Come to the new Fireside Café! DeKalb Library, in partnership with Borders and Seattle's Best Coffee, will sell several varieties of coffee and cookies by the fireplace on the main floor. Make your weekend browsing a little brighter!

2:00pm Antiques Appraisal with Grace Carolyn Dahlberg. Ms. Dahlberg will appraise 2 items per person in front of the group for a fun afternoon! There are still a few spots left, so sign up at the Reference Desk today! Cost per person is $3.00, registration is required to attend, and no coins, stamps or weapons will be appraised. ***Coming Soon*** Music In The Stacks makes its return! Join us on Friday, May 2nd at 7:00pm for the first performance of the season featuring a DeKalb High School Jazz Band Combo! Tickets are $7.50 per person and all proceeds benefit the DeKalb Library's Endowment Fund! Refreshments will be available, provided by the DeKalb Public Library. ***Coming Soon*** Find out more about the grand old houses of DeKalb with "Who's Been Sleeping In My House" by local historian Steve Bigolin. Join us on Tuesday, May 6th at 7:00pm to discover who has owned the familiar houses in the area, and see if your house has a brush with fame in its past! FREE and open to the public. ***Coming Up*** Elizabeth Berg, author of Open House, We Are All Welcome Here, and the upcoming The Day I Ate Whatever I Wanted is coming to the DeKalb Public Library! Join us on Saturday, July 12th at 12:30pm at the Barsema Visitor's Center on NIU's campus for the final event of the library's Endowment Fund Drive. The program will include a luncheon, lecture, and a question-and-answer time, as well as a book signing opportunity. Tickets are on sale now for $30.00 per person for lunch and lecture, and $20.00 for lecture only.
